Somerset bowled out Worcestershire for a 147 run win at New Road to book their place at Trent Bridge against Nottinghamshire in the semi-final.
Opener Tom Banton survived two dropped catches early on in his innings to make a personal best white-ball score of 112, helping his team post 337-8.
Captain Tom Abell ran out Australian danger man Callum Ferguson for 21, proving to be th crucial wicket with the hosts struggling.
Part-time leg spinner Azhar Ali took 5-27 with the hosts slumping to 190 all out.
It could have been very different for Somerset if, after being put into bat, Ferguson had held either of the two chances at slip both off Pat Brown's bowling.
Banton was therefore allowed to make a second wicket stand of 115 in 18 overs with Peter Trego - who contributed 37 - with the former England under-19s captain hitting 13 fours and three sixes in his innings.
The visitors batted all the way down the order, and were supported by some tight bowling, including a List A best for Pakistani international Ali, with some sharp fielding.
Daryl Mitchell's 34 was the top score in Worcestershire's reply, suffering a third successive One-Day Cup home exit.
Having become a force in the limited overs form of the game, the reigning T20 Blast champions have qualified from their group for the last four years, earning a home semi-final twice as group winners.
The dramatically close finish last year against Kent will be of little comfort, with this latest defeat similar to the 153-run loss to Surrey in 2016 and the nine-wicket defeat to Somerset in 2016.
The wait for a List A knockout win at New Road since 2004 goes on, that being the year of the C & G Trophy quarter-final win over Essex - the year after their famous Andrew Hall-inspired last-over semi-final victory over Lancashire.

Lancashire won by 20 runs against Middlesex to progress to the semi-final where they will face defending champions Hampshire.
Despite reducing the hosts to 24-5 after 10 overs thanks to James Anderson and Saqib Mahmood, Middlesex began to fight back.
A club List A sixth-wicket record partnership of 197 between James Harris and John Simpson - 117 and 74 respectively - took them near victory.
But when they both fell, 84 were needed off 59 balls, and they eventually fell short on 284 all out.
Harris was stumped by skipper Dane Vilas off Matt Parkinson, and two balls later Anderson enacted his second run out, as 221-5 became 221-7.
Brought back into the attack with 43 runs off the last four overs, Mahmood took his fourth wicket of the match, taking his total for the competition to 25 in nine matches.
A sliced top edge went all the way for six off Anderson's ninth over, reducing the equation to 27 off 12, before Nathan Sowter was run out and Toby Roland-Jones holed out.
Earlier, former Red Rose skipper Liam Livingstone was dismissed for a four-ball innings, not the triumphant Lancashire return he would have been hoping for having played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
Lancs recovered from the early loss with opener Keaton Jennings (96), Vilas (70*) and Steven Croft (68) all making half-centuries to push past 300 - which would have been difficult enough for Middlesex to chase, and there early stumbling made it near impossible.
Max Holden played Mahmood to mid-on off the last ball of the fourth over, he tried to sprint a single, only for 36-year-old Anderson to fire a direct hit at the stumps.
Anderson then took a wicket with the next ball, trapping Nick Gubbins leg before with an inswinger, with Mahmood then having Sam Robson caught behind.
Two came in the youngster's next over, with Stevue Eskinazi miscuing to square leg off the first and Ross Taylor edging to slip.
If Lancashire though the win would be a breeze, those thought were soon dismissed by Harris, hitting 11 fours and two sixes in his record stand with former Lancashire youngster Simpson.
It was the second time in three weeks that Middlesex posted a new List A county-record partnership at Lords, after Eskinazi and Gubbins putting on 184 for the fifth wicket in the win over Gloucestershire.
Today's partnership nearly set up another huge victory, but Lancashire held their nerve to progress to the last four.
