Originally the match had been shortened to 47 overs each, which soon became 41 after another delay.
The heaviest shower later on left the outfield far too wet for play to continue.
In the 19 overs played, Pakistan reached 80-2, with Jofra Archer starring with the new ball.
Other than Archer's credentials, England learned little to aid their task of finalising their World Cup squad at the end of this five-match series.
Fringe layers like James Vince and Joe Denly may have been relishing the opportunity to perform before the World Cup, with Jason Roy and Moeen Ali out injured, however neither got the opportunity due to the persistent rain.
However we did see the best of Jofra Archer - touching speeds of 93mph - he bowled with such relentless accuracy that it wasn't until his 19th delivery that he conceded a run, and in total his four overs only cost six runs.
He tormented Fakhar Zaman until the left-hander poked to second slip, where Joe Root took a juggling catch.
Liam Plunkett was out of sorts in conceding almost seven runs an over, before having Babar Azam caught behind leaving Pakistan 45-2.
Opener Imam-ul-Haq was unmoved at the other end, moving to 42 not out in the company of Haris Sohail.
Haris should have been stumped for 14 off Adil Rashid, only for Jos Buttler to fail to gather the ball, a delivery that proved to be the last before the game-ending rain.
