Beginning the day on 265-3, Ellyse Perry and Rachael Haynes extended their fourth wicket stand from 105 to 162 before lunch.
They had climbed to 341-5 by lunch, after Perry and Haynes fell to off-spinner Laura Marsh for 116 and 87 respectively - the latter's dismissal came after she was dropped on 66.
Two planned afternoon resumptions did not come to fruition, with the covers staying firmly on the pitch.
Play was abandoned soon after 5:20pm, with play scheduled to restart art 11:00am tomorrow.
