England won by 143 runs in their Test match against Ireland, after bowling out the visitors for 38, thanks to a seam-bowling masterclass from Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad.
England - 85 & 303 / 207 & 38 - Ireland
England avoided being on the end of a stunning upset at Lord's, and instead Ireland suffered the seventh lowest Test total in history, and the lowest at the home of cricket.
In only their third Test, Ireland were set 182 to win with a maximum of two days to complete the chase, but they were demolished in what turned out to be perfect conditions for bowlers Broad and Woakes.
Without needing to use any of his other bowlers, the opening pair shared all wickets, Woakes taking 6-17 and earning him a place on the honours board at Middlesex's ground, while Broad took 4-19.
At one stage three wickets fell for no runs with the last nine falling for just 18, in the joint-second shortest Test innings in history with just 94 deliveries, and the shortest innings for 95 years.
The bowling masked England's deficiencies with the bat, with the win mostly reliant on Jack Leach as nightwatchman and Sam Curran's late hitting after the collapse.
The first innings total of 85 was the lowest to win a Test for 112 years.
Lowest Test totals

30: South Africa v England, Port Elizabeth, 1896
30: South Africa v England, Edgbaston, 1924
35: South Africa v England, Cape Town, 1899
36: South Africa v Australia, Melbourne, 1932
36: Australia v England, Edgbaston, 1902
38: Ireland v England, Lord's, 2019
Despite the win, questions will be asked of England's top order, and of how close they came to a defeat against Test novices.
Jason Roy is one positive to be taken, he made 72 in the second innings, while his partner was dismissed early and Joe Denly suffered a run out at the hands of captain Root.
Jonny Bairstow completed a pair and Moeen Ali looked similarly out of form.
Two of England's World Cup heroes Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes were rested for this match at will bolster the middle order for the Ashes, while player of the match and top scorer Leach is unlikely to be picked for the Edgbaston Test, as his left arm spin didn't take any wickets in the first innings and he didn't get a chance to bowl in the second.
What England lack in batting options they make up for in the bowling attack, with Woakes and Broad surely confirmed to play in the first Ashes Test, with Sam Curran and debutant Olly Stone chipping in with wickets in the first innings.
With James Anderson and Jofra Archer set to return from injuries, England have six options for three pace-bowling places.
Stone was bowled by Stuart Thompson with the first delivery of the day, and Ireland's chase began before it was halted by rain.
The conditions on the restart were perfect for England, and about as bad as can be for Ireland, with Woakes and Broad taking advantage.
They swung the ball around to find edges or the pads on a full length, with catching behind and in the slips a positive to take from the match - none more so than Bairstow diving to his left off Woakes to dismiss captain William Porterfield for the first wicket.
Ireland's defence could not compete with England's seam-bowling, while those who tried to attack their way out of trouble also struggled.
