Unibet Premier League Darts - Night 11, Liverpool - Cross stays top while race for play-offs tightens up

It's as you were at the top of the league with both Cross and van Gerwen winning, but it's still all to play for to make the top four, with the remaining six players separated by only four points.

Rob Cross beat Peter Wright 8-5 despite suffering with tonsillitis.
Voltage pulled out of the weekend's competition through illness, but averaged 102 in an impressive victory to stay top of the Premier League.
An 11-darter sealed the win and sent him three points clear at the summit of the table in the first match of the night.
This was Cross' eighth ton-plus average in 11 Premier League matches, hitting four 180s and eight our of 15 on the doubles to make it three wins in a row.
The former world champion took out 105 for a 12-darter, before Snakebite threatened a revival winning three of the next four legs.
While he hit checkouts of 106 and 104 in that mini-resurgence, it proved to be in vain and Cross went on to take the win.

Gerwyn Price triumphed 8-5 over Mensur Suljovic to boost his play-off chances.
The Iceman averaged 89 to the Gentle's 88, hitting two 180s each and no three-figure out shots.
The Grand Slam champion raced into a 3-0 lead, the last of those ended with an 86 checkout at the end of a 12-dart leg.
The Austrian responded with four legs on the bounce to lead, before the Welshman won the next four legs.
Suljovic won the next leg before Price sealed the win with a 13-darter.
Price hit eight of his 18 double compared to Suljovic's five from 19, and after missing match darts against MVG last week, this was the perfect response for Price.

James Wade moved up to third on leg difference after an entertaining 7-7 draw with Daryl Gurney.
SuperChin came back from two-leg deficits three times to rescue a draw.
The Northern Irishman won the decider in superb style with a 10-dart leg.
The Machine only averaged 90 compared to Gurney's 104, but was more efficient with finishing, hitting seven out of 13 at doubles.
Three of Gurney's eight missed doubles came in leg nine while leading 5-3.
The Englishman won three legs on the spin before Gurney's 11 then 10-dart legs shared the points.

A 109+ average was enough for Michael van Gerwen to demolish Michael Smith with an 8-3 win.
In a repeat of last year's final, the reigning champion won his fourth match in a row against the Bully Boy in one of his best performances in this year's Premier League.
Mighty Mike romped to a 4-0 lead with two 11-darters and a 12 that was finished with a 122 checkout on the bull.
Smith put that run to an end with a 12-darter of his own, but his next leg win was to make it 6-2.
He pulled another one back but van Gerwen then checked 76 and 80 for the win, to stay right behind Cross at the top of the table.
