Formula One: Chinese Grand Prix - F1's 1000th race won by Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton leads the championship for the first time this year with a comfortable win in China.

His Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas started on pole, but the Englishman overtook on the line and controlled from then on.

Sebastian Vettel completed the podium, after his team had order fellow Ferrari Charles Leclerc to let him past in first few laps.

As a consequence of this decision, the Monegasque lost fourth place to Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

In his first season racing for Ferrari, Leclerc questioned the decision saying "but I'm pulling away," over the team radio.

Hamilton built a five-second lead over his Finnish team-mate before pitting on lap 22.
Mercedes' brought Bottas in first to protect from Vettel, dropping the lead down to two seconds before Hamilton pulled away again for a second consecutive win.
It was Hamilton's 75th career victory, making him second in terms of wins, and it came on a weekend on which he had struggled throughout practice but pulled a lap out of the bag to grab a front-row spot, which proved decisive for his win.
