In the Women's final on Saturday, unseeded Mikuru Suzuki of Japan came out on top with a 3-0 victory over the number one seed Lorraine Winstanley.
'The Miracle' Suzuki breezed through the opening set with 72, 148 and 80 checkouts before throwing back-to-back 180s at the start of the second.
The 36-year-old is the first non-European to win the title, and the first Asian world champion in the PDC or BDO.
It was Winstanley's first world final, but only won two legs against a dominant Suzuki.
"It was the best darts I have played this year," said Suzuki.
Winstanley, who beat three-time winner Anastasia Dobromyslova in the semi-finals, took the third leg of the second set but Suzuki quickly doubled her advantage with a 74 checkout. The beauty therapist pulled a second leg back on her throw in the third set but Suzuki wrapped up the win with a 90.12 average - the first over 90 in the final of the women's tournament.

With there not being a large pool of talented female players on the circuit, it's hard to understand where Suzuki has been all this time.
To play that well on your Lakeside debut is sensational, especially after walking on to "Baby Shark".
Beating Lisa Ashton, the defending world champion in the first round showed the rest of the women that she is not to be taken lightly.
It would be great to see her at the Grand Slam or even at Ally Pally next year for the PDC World Championships.

(9) Scott Waites 3-7 (2) Glen Durrant
Glen Durrant beat Scott Waites 7-3 to win a third consecutive BDO World Championship title.
"It means the earth and back," Durrant said after beating 41-year-old two-time champion Waites. "To do it against a Lakeside legend, it's the icing on the cake."
Durrant threw 13 180s, averaging 95.19, compared to Waites' 91.38

"The guy is a giant, the ultimate when it comes to the Lakeside. I'm dead happy. I don't think I've had a better feeling in darts."
Durrant won the first set, the next three also went with the throw, before Waites broke to go 3-2 up with checkouts of 20, 104 and 45.
Duzza raised his game at that point, to win five sets on the bounce to take home the title.
"I am gutted about losing. Glen didn't give me much chance after the break," said Waites, 2013 and 2016 champion.

The 48-year-old is the first player to win three BDO world titles in a row since Eric Bristow in 1984-86, and the fifth to win it on three or more occasions.

There's not much more to say about Glen Durrant.
He is an extremely talented dart player, and to win three back-to-back world titles is a stunning achievement.
To be put on the same level as the late Eric Bristow would be a dream and an honour for anyone in the world of darts.
Long may his success continue.
