The kits, badges, sponsors and first players were announced for the England & Wales Cricket Broad's (ECB) new format for next summer.
Joe Root was picked to play for the Nottingham-based Trent Rockets, after Ben Stokes had been picked to play for Northern Superchargers, covering Yorkshire and Durham county players.
Jofra Archer will play for the Southampton franchise Southern Brave, while seam bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad were not chosen.
England's Test players will all be paid by the ECB as part of their central contracts, with the eight teams selecting two local 'icon' players from the catchment counties.
England white-ball captain and Middlesex batsman Eoin Morgan was picked for London Spirit, Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen Ali joined Birmingham Phoenix and Surrey opener Jason Roy will represent Oval Invincibles, with those three awarded the maximum £125,000 contract.
Colin Ingram is the only non-English player to be picked so far, the South African will play alongside Yorkshire and England batsman and wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow and Somerset opener Tom Banton for Welsh Fire.
Banton has recently been called up for the Twenty20 series in New Zealand next month where, if picked, he will make his international debut.
The main draft will take place on 20 October, where the remaining places in the 15-man squads will be filled.
International stars of the game such as West Indies opener Chris Gayle and Australian batsman Steve Smith have already made themselves available to play next summer.
Following a random draw, it's been decided that Trent Rockets will have the first choice in the draft, with each team allowed a maximum of three overseas players.
The salary bands are as follows:
£125,000
£100,000
£75,000
£60,000
£50,000
£40,000
£30,000.
There can be up to two players in each salary band, with captains receiving a £10,000 bonus.

In the women's tournament, Heather Knight was picked by London Spirit, who will play at Lord's.
Two players have signed for each team from the 21 centrally contracted England players.
Seven other World Cup winners were picked today, bowler Anya Shrubsole and opening batter Danni Wyatt will play for Southern Brave, all-rounder Natalie Sciver and bowler Katherine Brunt were picked for Trent Rockets, spin-bowler Laura Marsh and batter Fran Wilson will represent Oval Invincibles and Batter Lauren Winfield will play for Northern Superchargers.
The second stage of the women's player selection process lasts until the end of May next year, in which each team can pick the remaining 13 players from three different pools: remaining England centrally contracted players, domestic players and overseas players.
A maximum of three overseas players are allowed for each team, while only one further England centrally contracted player is allowed.
The salary bands for the women's teams are as follows, with a £1,200 captain's bonus:
£15,000
£12,000
£9,000
£7,200
£6,000
£4,800
£3,600.

With this new format brings new tactics and and new decisions for experienced captains.
Each innings of 100 balls can be bowled in 'overs' of five or 10 balls, with the bowler having the option of switching ends after five of the 10 balls.
Each bowler has a maximum of 20 deliveries, with the fielding team allowed a 150-second tactical timeout each innings.
The first 25 balls will be the batting powerplay, in which only two fielders will be allowed outside of the 30-yard circle.
In trials of this format held last summer, each innings took just over one hour to complete, making for fast and exhilarating action.
There will be no long break between innings, the changeover will be almost immediate, perfect to keep the spectators engaged.
